Tier 2 – Sponsor Licence
A Sponsorship Licence is applicable to companies who wish to employ suitable migrant workers. A company will need to obtain a Sponsorship Licence which is a requirement to issue Certificates of Sponsorship when employing suitable migrant workers.
Companies wishing to employ suitable migrant workers need to have a Sponsorship Licence to issue Certificates of Sponsorship which are essential for migrant workers’ application.
Companies need to be A-rated to ensure that they are suitable. In some cases, the Home Office may accept B-rated companies.
Universities wishing to sponsor non-EEA students need to have a Sponsorship Licence to issue Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies which are essential for migrant students’ application.
An HR system is required to be in place when employing overseas nationals for the purposes of ensuring that steps are in place to prevent illegal working.
In order to avoid the possibility of heavy fines and penalties being imposed by the Home Office, it is important that businesses ensure that all workers have a legal right to work in the UK.
