Tier 2 – Sports People Visas
The Tier 2 Sportsperson Visa category is for top-level athletes and coaches whose application is being endorsed by their sport's governing body, who are coming to the UK to work in a way that will help their sport's development. Workers for this visa must have a certificate of sponsorship from a sports organisation with a valid Tier 2 sponsorship license before they apply.
You can apply under this visa category if you are an international elite coach or sports person who is established at the highest level.
In order to apply for a PBS Tier 2 – Sports People visa, you will need to make a significant contribution to the development of the sport you are practising.
You will also need to have a Certificate of Sponsorship, an endorsement from your sport’s governing body, enough funds and meet the English language requirement.
Your dependents can apply for permission to stay in the United Kingdom, however they will need to complete their own application.
