The High Potential Individual visa route has been introduced by the Home Office on 30th May 2022.
With this new visa route, you might be eligible to come work in the UK without a Sponsor.
To be eligible for this new visa route you must have been awarded a qualification by an eligible university in the last 5 years.
Kindly note that your qualification must be the equivalent of:
- a UK bachelor’s degree
- a UK postgraduate degree
- a UK Ph.D. or doctorate
With this visa, you can stay in the UK for up to 2 years if your qualification is the equivalent of a UK Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree.
If your qualification is the equivalent of a UK Ph.D. or doctorate, you will be able to stay in the UK for up to 3 years.
In order to be eligible, you may have to prove your English Knowledge. You might be able to prove this with your qualification if it was taught in English. If not, you will have to pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider and obtain a certificate B1.
Please note that you will not be able to extend your visa, but you will be able to switch to another visa route in order to remain in the UK, such as the Skilled Worker route.
