Home Office COVID-19 concession for Tier 1 Entrepreneurs explained
What does the Home Office’s guidance on COVID-19 concession mean for Tier 1 Entrepreneurs?
The Home Office’s guidance on the COVID-19 concession provides that:
- Tier 1 Entrepreneur applicants will be able to combine different jobs from different months to fulfil the 2 full-time job creation requirement where the jobs were disrupted due to COVID-19.
The Immigration Rules allow a combination of jobs for the same job from different months. However, the Home Office’s COVID-19 concession will allow different jobs to be combined to meet the job creation requirement. For example, under the COVID-19 concession, you will be able to combine an Analyst job with a Technician job (by way of illustration).
- If your employees have been furloughed, you will not be able to count the time the employees were furloughed towards the 12-month period.
- Should you not satisfy the 2 full-time job creation requirement, you will be able to extend your visa to meet the requirement.
Please note that the above COVID-19 concession for Tier 1 Entrepreneurs will apply to applications made after 31st May 2020 where the business was disrupted due to COVID-19.
